Book Trailer Media Challenge

Do you have what it takes to be an inspiring film creator? Can you create, edit, and publish original and unique materials? Clarion Free Library wants to see your skills in its Book Trailer Media Challenge. For this challenge, participants are asked to create an original and stunning book trailer for a book of their choice. The goal of this trailer is to entice peers to read the said book with no spoilers given.

 

More Details:

  • Work can be submitted as a group of up to 4 or individually.
  • Participants must be 13 to 18 years old. 19-year-old’s completing their last year of high school are also eligible to participate.
  • Original work must be created by teens ages 13 -18. Consulting adults is permissible, but the planning, production and selection of subject matter must all be created entirely by the teen(s).
  • Video entries should be between 1 to 3 minutes in length.
  • Entries may be live-action, animation, or machinima.
  • Music, images, and video clips integrated into the video must be legally licensed either by obtaining the copyright holder’s permission, using materials licensed through Creative Commons licensing, or using entirely original content created by the teen(s) submitting the project.
  • Work is to be uploaded to YouTube and tagged with #BookTrailerChallenge
  • Work must have participant(s) first name, last initial; title and author of book; book publish date; and song title with singer in the credits.
  • Participants agree that Clarion Free Library may use their submission to advertise and promote the library with no reimbursement or financial compensation.
  • The Clarion Free Library is not responsible for any lost, delayed, damaged, misdirected or illegal submissions.
  • The Clarion Free Library may disqualify any entry based on content and/or production.
  • All costs associated with making and submitting a video are the contestant’s responsibility. The Clarion Free Library will not reimburse or be responsible for any costs incurred in the making or submission of any entry.
  • All entries must adhere to the YouTube Community Guidelines, as stated on the YouTube web site at youtube.com/t/community_guidelines
  • Teens may submit up to 2 book trailers.
  • An online entry form must be completed for each book trailer.
  • 1 winner from each age group (7th through 9th Grade) and (10th through 12th Grade) will be chosen for a total of 2 winners.
  • Winners will each receive a $10 Amazon Gift Card

 

Entry Forms must be completed by September 30th, 2023

Winners will be announced in mid-October
